Plus Size Bras for a Fuller Bust

Bras built for a fuller bust
If you wear a larger cup size, you already know the problem. You want something that carries the weight properly, gives the bust a decent shape, does not dig in anywhere, looks good, and does not cost a fortune. That combination is rare. This section exists because it should not be.
Fabric that works
Good-quality microfibre.
Strong, with enough stretch to move with you and hold the bust securely.
Polyamide with a little elastane and polyester
Real support
- Full cups that contain the bust properly.
- A high centre gore between the cups.
- Three rows of hooks with adjustable fastening.
- Wide elasticated straps.
- A reinforced T-shaped cup seam.
- Underwires.
- A wide back
Cotton inside
All semi-soft and padded styles, and some soft ones, are lined with cotton inside the cup. If your skin is sensitive, nothing synthetic sits directly against it.

The plus size bra catalogue
Our range of larger-size bras is unusually deep, and it covers band sizes to 115 and cups to L. There are wired and wire-free styles, minimising and lifting designs, plain seamless pieces and deliberately provocative ones, along with the unusual size combinations most shops never stock. The colour range is wide — classic white, black and red, through pink, nude and blue, and the powder shade that has become such a favourite. Trims run from decorative straps and strap detailing to silky lace, fine embroidery, sheer micromesh and guipure.
Every product page carries photographs from several angles, a full description, the size chart and customer reviews. One thing worth knowing before you start: Gorsenia is the brand our customers choose most often at the larger end of the range.
Minimisers
Minimisers make up a distinct group in our catalogue. They do not physically reduce the bust — what they do is redistribute the volume and reduce how far it projects forward, so the visual effect is roughly a size smaller. The shaping is gentle rather than compressive, and they stay comfortable through the day. The best minimisers in the larger sizes, in our view, come from Gorsenia, Gaia, Mediolano, and Mefemi.
Bras with side support panels
A side support panel is a firmer vertical section built into the side of the cup. It stops the bust spreading sideways, clears the volume out from under the arm, and draws everything gently towards the centre. Worth trying at least once if you have never owned one — the difference in how a bra sits is more noticeable than you would expect.
Unusual size combinations
A full bust on a small ribcage is one of the hardest things to fit, and most shops simply do not carry it. We do — large cups on a small band, and the reverse as well: a wider band with a smaller cup, which is just as difficult to find. Use the size filter to see what is currently available in your combination.
The different constructions
Soft cups are the most popular of all, because they add no volume — if anything they reduce it slightly, since there is no padding involved. Comfortable, they hold their shape well, and usually come on wide straps. The cups are full and either entirely covered in lace or embroidery, or combined with lace, mesh or guipure panels.
Semi-soft cups are padded across the lower half or two thirds. The top section is soft — lace, micromesh or plain fabric matched to the main colour. The padding is a light but firm foam-like material, in thinner or denser versions. The denser one lifts the bust well but adds volume and a little weight to the cup, which is worth bearing in mind.
Padded cups carry that same material across the whole cup. They also add some volume, but the lift is very good. Inside, the cup is usually lined with cotton; outside it may be trimmed with lace, guipure, embroidery, pendants or other detailing.
Sports bras in larger sizes, for any kind of activity. Cut from breathable fabric that is denser and stretchier than usual, they look more like a top than a bra and hold the bust securely through movement.
Strapless styles — or rather, styles with detachable straps. You can wear them with or without, and they remain supportive either way. A silicone strip inside the band stops them slipping.
Underwired styles sit high under the arm, which stops a fuller bust spreading sideways and creates genuine lift.
Wire-free styles in larger sizes still support, thanks to good fabric, a high centre gore and wide straps. If you wear a bra at home as well as out, this is the most comfortable option there is — you can leave it on all day and still move freely.
Seamless styles are smooth, with no seams on the cup and no lace or trim. They go under close-fitting clothing, where they disappear completely.
Push-up bras in larger sizes add volume on top of what is already there. In a balconette cut, they work best under dresses and blouses with an open neckline.
Semi-sheer styles come in several variations, usually with the upper half of the cup in lace or mesh. Some are plain and semi-sheer without any lace at all.
Also worth knowing:
- we carry lingerie in larger sizes across the whole range, not only bras;
- you can add matching plus size briefs to any bra you choose;
- and there are versatile nursing bras for pregnancy and feeding.
Prices
Prices here are reasonable, and we do what we can to keep them that way — regular sales included. Watch for the discounted price shown on each product page.
Which style suits which situation
At home, a wire-free bra is perfectly adequate; out of the house, wires give better support. If you want to reduce the bust visually, a soft minimiser is the reliable answer. If you want a rounder shape, more volume or firmer support, choose semi-soft or padded.
For a bust that has lost some of its firmness: semi-soft, with strong wide straps, a high centre gore, and wires that extend under the arm.
For a bust that is wide at the base: side support panels, high wires at the underarm, a T-shaped cup seam and a wide back.
For a bust that is narrow at the base: wires of medium height, so the bust is distributed evenly across the cup rather than pushed forward. Look for narrower, closer-set wires — Gaia does these particularly well.
Long-line bras, half-corsets and camisoles with a built-in bra work well at larger sizes because they do two jobs at once: support the bust and give a clean line at the sides. That holds true as long as the piece is well made and properly cut.
What tends not to work at a larger size
Bras with no fastening. To get one on, it has to stretch a great deal — and anything that stretches that much will not support much.
Front-fastening styles. They seem practical, but the fastening replaces the centre gore, which is one of the main structural supports.
Pure cotton bras. Cotton does not hold a heavy bust in position, and because it has no give, it tends to rub and press.
Satin. Beautiful, but it has no stretch, which makes it impractical at this end of the size range.
Bandeaus and adhesive silicone cups. These only work if the bust holds its own shape well, which is rarely the case at larger sizes.
If you want a bra that fits and actually does its job, browse the catalogue — and take your time over the size chart.
